Dress Silhouette 101

Dresses have been and always will be my go-to piece of clothing for any occasion! There are so many different shapes and silhouettes of dresses and it is important to pick out a style that flatters but is also super cute! These seven dress styles are really good at flattering any body shape!

{ one // shift dress } shift dresses are don't really have dimension to them.. they don't tuck or accentuate any part of your body and lay pretty flat- they look super cute with statement necklaces in order to add a little more excitement to the otherwise plain shaped dress

{ two // shirtdress } shirt dresses are really comfy and come in so many colors and styles! they always look effortless and casual- shirtdresses are perfect for school, the office, lunch with friends, or just walking around town!

{ three // sheath } sheath dresses are really flattering because they are tailored to come in at the waist- which automatically gives a nice shape and figure to the dress.. this dress from Madewell is one of my favorites because of the lovely floral pattern and the way it is designed...

{ four // drop waist } in my opinion drop waist dresses are the hardest to wear but if you style it right it is sure to look amazing! drop waist do not tuck in at your waist and instead are tailored more towards your hips this style isn't very slimming which is why I find it the hardest to wear

{ five // fit and flare } fit and flare dresses are my favorite because it really works on any body shape! fit and flares are tighter and more form fitting near the top to show off and nice upper body and then flare out near the waist! These dresses are not only flattering but they really help to show off the best parts of the body!

{ six // blouson } blouson styled dresses are also one of my favorites because they are very flowy which makes they super comfortable and stylish- blouson dresses are like loose blouses at the top, gather at the waist, and then flow back out.. they are very comfortable and very flattering

{seven // empire waist } empire waist dresses are definitely one of the most popular styles of dresses for more formal occasions.. they usually wrap or gather around the chest and then flow outwards which makes for a perfect party dress.. there are strapless, sleeveless, and even longsleeve versions of an empire waist dress which makes them perfect for any occasion

Lauren Conrad "Infamous" Book Signing!

Yesterday me and my besties went to bookstore not too far from us and met THE Lauren Conrad! She was there as part of her book tour for the last book "Infamous" in her series "The Fame Game" She was so sweet and friendly and gave us compliments and created conversation! She signed my copy of her newest novel as well as her "Lauren Conrad Style" book! It was hands down one of the best experiences of my life so obviously I had to dress my best! I wore an LC Lauren Conrad shirt from her Kohl's line, flowy daisy shorts from Target, a turquoise necklace from Forever 21, and nude flats!
